"World's Tallest Water Ride" Coming to Holiday World
The world's tallest water ride will headline the expansion projects planned for Holiday World & Splashin' Safari's 2009 season. Pilgrims Plunge, a classic "shoot the chute" ride, will utilize an open elevator to swiftly lift boats filled with riders 135 feet in the air. The boats will pause briefly and then rapidly descend a record 131 feet at a 45-degree angle, creating a wall of water splashing 45 feet high and 90 feet wide.
SeaWorld Orlando Closed Early; Other Orlando Parks On Notice
(RCPro) - SeaWorld Orlando closed at 5 PM today, Tuesday, August 19th in preparation for Tropical Storm Fay. Elsewhere in Orlando, both Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World Resort were all on regularly scheduled operating hours as of this report. Neither resort had a final decision on the opening of their parks for Wednesday, August 20th, although both had been closely monitoring the storm's activity.
